This Dramatic Portrait
In the struggle between faith and wealth, it's a knockout win for Mammon in Showalter's delightfully tacky true story of the disgraced TV preacher and her felon spouse. Garfield plays the venal Jim, who states initially, asserting religious justification for riches. He and Tammy Faye commence capitalizing on the people's religious faith. It's a spectacle of tacky decor, bad makeup and hypocrisy, however Jessica Chastain succeeds to depict the character as a sympathetic figure. October 14th, early morning, the Film4 channel
