The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California at the age of 55.
The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.
The renowned industry figure passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, those closest to him, and all those touched by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
